Asuke-cho, Toyota City is an ideal spot for a walk, with old houses that still retain the original appearance of the prosperous post town. As you walk past the old houses, you can feel nostalgia and warmth being surrounded by white-walled Dozo storehouses, lattice doors, and black partition boards. There are even unique shops such as the cafe & gallery - "MANRIN KURA NO NAKA Gallery", which is a renovated warehouse that was first constructed 100 years ago, and "Asuke no Kajiya" which is a long-established blacksmith from the late Edo period with a live music cafe. Also, there are events where the entire town comes together and activities where the old houses can be enjoyed. Furthermore, Korankei Gorge, which is famous as a spot for viewing autumn colors, is located in Asuke, and the beautiful scenery with approximately 4,000 trees dyed in red and yellow in autumn can be enjoyed.
