18Obara Four Seasons Cherry Blossoms - Senmi Shikizakura no Sato
Shikizakura, or Four Seasons cherry blossoms, bloom in spring and autumn. A long time ago, it was said that they started when a doctor planted seedlings in Obara, Toyota, Aichi Prefecture. Shikizakura are loved by people as a symbol of the area and they can be seen here and there around the Obara district, and there are now more than 10,000 trees. Here, spectacular autumn leaves can be seen alongside the cherry blossoms in the fall. Among them, at Senmi Shikizakura no Sato
(Senmi Shikizakura Village), 1,200 trees stand along the entire side of the mountain, and the beauty of red autumn leaves blended with pink cherry blossoms sprawl everywhere in mid-November. When the wind blows, the autumn leaves and cherry blossoms rustle like a wave going down the slope, and its beauty is wonderful. There is even a promenade lined with trees with autumn leaves and Shikizakura blossoms, making it an ideal place to take a stroll.
