1Shinhotaka Ropeway

”Shinhotaka Ropeway” is located in one of Japan’s most famous mountainous regions, and is the only 2-story cable car in the entire country. By riding on this cable car you will be taken to 2,156m above sea level, and even go above the clouds. At the summit of the mountain, you are able to view the Northern Alps at a 3,000m above-ground 360° angle. Also, if you visit at the start of summer or when it gets closer to autumn, you’re able to see some beautiful mountain flowers and enjoy the breathtaking mountainous nature.
During autumn, the business hours of the ropeway is extended slightly, allowing you to see a beautiful sunset from above the clouds.
During winter, the area sees a lot of snowfall, and at the Sengoku garden found at the summit of the mountain, you can see 3m tall snow walls on either side. If you walk down the “Snow Corridor” which is made of snow walls, you can experience a sight you’re unable to see anywhere else.
